Ompi plans to double the production capacity of the Ompi EZ-fill Vials & Cartridges in the second quarter of 2016.
Ompi EZ-fill Vials & Cartridges solution was launched in 2010 to extend the ready to be filled container range beyond prefillable syringes.
Ompi was the pioneer in the introduction of this new concept that aims to ease the business of its customers, helping them outsourcing “non-core” activities, thereby lowering time to market, increasing quality and safety, reducing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), and providing a common filling platform.
Stevanato Group (Piombino Dese - Padua, Italy), an international leader in the production of cartridges for insulin and glass containers for pharmaceutical use through its Ompi brand, today strengthened its presence in Asia Pacific by officially inaugurating the new Ompi of China production plant in Zhangjiagang (China).
In order to meet the demands of a constantly evolving market and accompany the Group's evolution and mission, Stevanato Group—international leader in the production of insulin cartridges and glass containers for pharmaceutical use and in technology for glass tube forming machines and visual inspection machines—updates its corporate identity.
Ompi doubled the size of its manufacturing plant in Mexico, Cienega de Flores in Monterrey, in the state of Nuovo Leon. The Mexican plant, opened in 2008 to serve the needs of the American market, has doubled in size thanks to an investment of around €22 million, now measuring 12,000 square metres (indoor).
Nuova Ompi has been included in the European Outsourcing Awards shortlist of finalists for the "Most Improved Manufacturing Project or Process" with EZ-Fill™ CARTRIDGES.
"Organic growth", said Company President Cav. Sergio Stevanato, "is the basis of every solid industrial company. That's why, in keeping with our business plan, we have decided to begin doubling the plant in Mexico. The investment plan will initially open with the amount of 4.5 million Euros, which is expected to double early in 2012, and will reach 30 million by the time the plant has been completed."
It has been decided to provide a 4 million Euro investment a full year in advance with respect to the industrial plan, in order to initiate the second phase of the project which is dedicated to the production of sterile vials and cartridges.
